Meet Brian Middleton
Fort Bend County's District Attorney — a certified Texas peace officer and career public servant who has spent eight years building one of the most respected DA offices in Texas.
Eight years of service to Fort Bend County.
Brian Middleton has served as the District Attorney of Fort Bend County since January 2019, after being elected in November 2018 — the first African-American to hold the office, and the first Democrat elected to it in 26 years.
A certified Texas peace officer and graduate of the Wharton County Police Academy, Brian has spent his career in service to the communities of Fort Bend County. Under his leadership, the office has stood up first-of-their-kind divisions, partnered with local, state, and federal agencies on operations targeting violent offenders and human traffickers, and expanded protections for victims of family violence.
In 2022, the State Bar of Texas and the Texas District & County Attorneys Association named him Texas Prosecutor of the Year — recognition that came not from politicians or donors, but from the lawyers and prosecutors who do this work every day. Two years later, those same peers elected him President-Elect of TDCAA, the association that represents every district and county attorney's office in Texas.
Today, he is asking the voters of Fort Bend County to send him back to keep building.
Recognized by his peers.
